<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; text-indent: 24pt;">The paper is to give some informational considerations and then model institution and institutional change, with globalization in the background. I propose that information and institution are the two sides of a same coin. The functions of institution and the motivation of institutional changes could be re-examined on an informational ground, and many interesting conclusions could be drawn. The rest of the paper is organized as follows: in section 1 I discuss the informational significance of institution, showing how to view institution as an informational mechanism and how it solves informational problems; in section 2 I discuss the informational significance of institutional changes, showing how the information problem develops with institution, and how such developments influence institutional changes accordingly; in section 3 I model institution, so give a formulated analysis to section 1; in section 4 I model institutional changes, so give a formulated analysis to section 2; finally in section 5 some concluding remarks are given.</span></p> |
